B Conference foes meet for Dragon Classic title Saturday

It's down to Annapolis Area Christian and host Glenelg Country School for Saturday's Dragon Classic title. The MIAA B Conference squads each won semifinal games Friday evening in Ellicott City.

Annapolis Area Christian rallied in the final quarter for a 65-60 victory over St. Anselm's. Junior guard Pat Lipinski led all scorers with 21 points for the Eagles (6-5), and Andre Hilliard added 18.

Christian Parker contributed 13 points for the Eagles, who played twice Thursday because of a scheduling conflict. The Crofton school defeated Friends School at home in a league game, then went to Glenelg Country School and defeated Chapelgate Christian in the tourney's opening round. Parker had 20 and Lipinski chipped in 18 in the Chapelgate win.

Glenelg Country had no such problems reaching the finals, beating Barrie School Thursday (86-46) and Calverton School Friday, 87-47. The Dragons (7-5) built a 45-26 halftime Friday, and never looked back.

Brian Gibbons had a game-high 19 points for Glenelg Country, and Ajay Harish added 14. John Jones and Evan Williams scored 12. Saturday's title game will not count in the conference standings.
