Eric Hemmeter, Lonnie Liggins and Adam Yates led Hereford's rout of Baltimore County 4A-3A League rival Catonsville, 56-0.

Any questions about Hereford's ability to play in a larger classification may have been answered with last night's 56-0 rout at Baltimore County 4A-3A League rival Catonsville.

The Bulls (2-0, 1-0) got two rushing touchdowns each from Lonnnie Liggins  and Eric Hemmeter, another rushing TD from D.J. Wacker, one sack each from Bryan Botti and Gordy Boone, and Ron Rose's returning one of the Bulls' three fumble recoveries for a touchdown at Catonsville (1-1, 0-1).

The Bulls also received an interception from Jason Fischer, who returned a punt 50 yards for a score, along with eight extra point kicks from Adam Yates in the win over the Comets (1-1, 0-1).

An early season showdown between Yates and the Comets' Dan Vanik, considered two of the state's premiere kickers, never materialized.
