Blake opened the wrestling season with duals wins over Blair and Einstein Satuday. Blake defeated Einstein, 48-26, and beat Blair by a score of 57-22.

Blake was led by seniors Nick Sacco, Rasheim Smith (last year's state runner-up), Anthony Steffes, and Joey Mckenna, who all went (2-0). Freshman, Brian Battaglia also looked impressive with two pins. Jack Hawvermale, Will Morris, and Steven Penland recorded their first varsity wins.

Einstein struggled a bit, but despite giving up 18 points for three forfeits, the Titans lost by only three points to Blair in the other dual, 42-39.
 
Einstein’s Ricky Echeona, Carlos Figueroa, Chris Byars and Wilmer Escoto all picked up two wins each.
 
Newcomer Trey Prince picked up a win against Blair to go 1-1 as did Tommy Wilson, who picked up his 50th career win by forfeit over Blair before falling 6-1 to Blake's Smith, 9-0.
 
Jorge Villatoro continued to improve as well, going 1-1 with a 12-10 victory over Blair and Alec Anderson recorded a pin over Blake to go 1-1 as well.
 
Echeona notched his second win of the season with a stellar 6-4 triple overtime match. Sean Flynn, Alex Monsell and Nebi Mohammed also wrestled well in their high school wrestling debuts.
