Mt. Carmel's team defense ignited the Cougars to outscore St. Mary's 25 - 9 in 2nd quarter to overcome a 21-9 Saints 1st quarter lead.
 
Troy Franklin's (13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals) steal and lay-up in the last 20 seconds of the game gave the Cougars the final lead and his steal with 1.9 seconds secured the victory.
