JOPPATOWNE DEFEATS NORTH EAST

Joppatowne's boys' junior varsity football team defeated North East, 40-8, in a league contest. The North East Indians were coming off a 8-0 win against Elkton Golden and marched into Joppatowne looking for another win. Joppatowne, meanwhile, was coming off a loss to a well-skilled Perry Hall team and was looking to avenge themselves.

On the first drive of the game, Joppatowne charged down the field, pounding away yards on their way to a touchdown. That touchdown in the early-stages of the game was the beginning of the Indians' struggles.

Although the game was a loss for North East, it didn't give in. John Gillespie rushed for about 70 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries, most of which came in the fourth quarter.

North East has a bye week this week and will play a tough Edgewood team the following week.
