Thanks to efforts like the one above, Perry Hall's 6-foot-5, 205-pound Dave Stinebaugh almost always faced double- and triple-team coverage. In spite of specialized defenses designed to stop him, the junior still caught 55 passes for 16 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder has the athleticism, the brains and the savvy to be perhaps among the nation's top recruits as a tight-end, wide receiver, defensive back, defensive end or linebacker.
And he's only a junior.
Stinebaugh led the Gators to a 10-2 record and a Class 4A North Region title-game berth, his game-winning touchdown reception lifting Perry Hall to a 28-21 regional semifinal victory over high-scoring North Carroll of Carroll County.
During his second year as a starter, Stinebaugh caught 55 passes for 1,035 yards and 16 TDs, rushed for a touchdown, threw a 52-yard pass for another and returned one of his four interceptions for still another score.
Almost always double- and triple-teamed, Stinebaugh, who is being recruited by a number programs, including the University of Maryland, was voted by Baltimore County's Class 4A-3A League coaches as both an All-County strong safety and outside linebakcer on defense, and a tight end on offense.
Stinebaugh has visited the Terps' campus often, and spoken to tight ends' coach Ray Rychleski and his recruiter, Phil Zacharias.
An honors studend with a 3.3 grade average, Stinebaugh has others recruiting him, including Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Boston College, UCONN and Syracuse.
In two seasons, Stinebaugh has 101 receptions for 1,898 yards and 28 scoring catches. Stinebaugh is exceptionally swift for his size, having clocked a 4.6-second 40-yard dash.
