Saints Peter & Paul and St. John's Catholic Prep finally met in a MIAA C Conference baseball playoff game, which was postponed three times by rain, yesterday, and the host Sabres routed the Vikings, 13-3, to advance to the C Conference finals, opposite top-seeded Beth Tfiloh, today at Joe Cannon Stadium.

Saints Peter & Paul (12-5) and St. John's share the largest geographical distance between any two MIAA schools, with the Sabres hailing from Easton and the Vikings (8-12) residing in Frederick.  With the Sabres home field still unplayable from the heavy rain of the last several days, the Vikings caught a bit of a break when they only had to travel as far as Towson to battle the Sabres on the turf field at Baltimore Lutheran. That is where their good fortune ended.

The third-seeded Sabres scored early and often as the took down the second-seeded Vikings.

Now the challenge for Saints Peter & Paul is to find a way to defeat top-seeded Beth Tfiloh (14-1) twice.  The Warriors went a perfect 12-0 in the regular season, including two wins over the Sabres by a combined score of 10-1.

Today's first pitch is slated for 4:00 pm. If Saints Peter & Paul wins, the two teams will play again tomorrow at site and time to be determined.
