Host Cardinal Gibbons struck for two goals in the final 10 minutes of play, on tuesday, to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Saints Peter & Paul, 3-1, in a MIAA B Conference match.

Gibbons struck first in the first half as junior Justin Geho converted a penalty kick. In the second half, John Mlynarski scored for Saints Peter and Paul off a deflection of a free kick by John Kaestner, to even the score at one.

Late in the second half, Joe Macken scored for Gibbons to break the tie and Ryan Kelly added the clincher for the Crusaders, with less than three minutes to play.

Sabres goalkeeper Micah Steinmiller had 6 saves in defeat, as his club fell to 0-2. Cardinal Gibbons improved to 2-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the B Conference with the victory.

Saints Peter & Paul entertains Annapolis Area Christian in Easton on Thursday and Cardinal Gibbons plays Glenelg Country School, on Friday.
