The Seahawks improved their overall record to 8-2 by defeating Meade on Friday, April 11. Helped by five Meade errors during the second inning, the Hawks batted around and scored 7 runs, highlighed by Sophomore Kevin Loftis two-run single to right. Loftis also contributed a double in his first game since rehabbing a broken hand.
Senior Russell Donaldson also had two singles, an RBI, and scored twice. South River was continually aggressive on the bases, stealing six bases - two each by Seniors Jake Sodeman and Brendan Ring, and one each by Junior Josh Kidwell and Donaldson.
Senior Joe Baker earned his third win of the season by pitching the first three innings, giving up only one hit and one unearned run. Freshman Zack Morris pitched the next three innings, giving up only 2 singles while Sodeman finished up with a scoreless seventh inning.
