Sterling (Apr. 1, 2008) - Do you want to see why the Lowes Island Club caught Donald Trump's attention? You can by participating in the 4th Annual Dominion Classic which will be held at the club on April 22.

The Dominion Classic is sponsored by ATLAS - the Association of Titan Leaders Assisting Students - a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting all students and faculty of Dominion High School. Proceeds from this annual event are used to support all of the Titans academic, athletic, and other extracurricular programs. This event has become an extremely important component of ATLAS’ annual fundraising activities and contributes nearly one-third of the operating budget. 

"At the heart of our vision is a commitment to meaningfully engage each and every Dominion student in school activities," said Dominion principal John Brewer in a release. "Significant resources are required in order to implement our plan for accomplishing this noble purpose. The Dominion Classic represents one of the most significant annual fundraisers toward the provision of these resources. All proceeds generated from this annual event are invested directly into the instructional and extra-curricular programs of Dominion High School and thus, benefit a wide range of activities and engage a broad spectrum of students."

Recognizing that recent economic events have had a significant negative impact on many businesses and families in the Dominion community, the organizers have reduced costs this year in the followaing ways:

*The individual cost to participate per player has been reduced to $150 per golfer
*The dollar amount for several corporate sponsorship levels has been reduced
*The introduction of a Sponsor Special - $750 for a foursome PLUS a hole sponsorship – a 50 percent cost reduction from last year!

 
"Our desire is to continue to provide a premier golf event that the Titan community can be proud of, while making sure that it is an affordable and as inclusive as possible," said tournament chair Dave Ledwell in a release. "Once again, we are seeking the support of organizations ... to participate as a sponsor for this prestigious event to support the many deserving programs at DHS."

Recently, Dominion was one of only 18 high schools across the Commonwealth to be honored with the Governor’s VIP Award for Educational Excellence. 

This prestigious recognition would not be possible without a team effort," said Brewer. "Since the inception of Dominion High School six years ago, our parent organization, ATLAS (the Association of Titan Leaders Assisting Students), has remained deeply committed to the pursuit of this level of excellence. Under the auspices of ATLAS, the culmination of this year’s event manifests the tireless efforts of a dedicated group of individuals who are passionately engaged in the pursuit of our noble vision."
