Junior Wick Eisenberg threw a complete game shutout, leading Friends to a 1-0 win over Mount Carmel on Monday at Mefield. The lefty outdueled Stephon Dingle, who struck out nine while pitching a two-hitter for Mount Carmel. Friends improves to 7-2 on the season and 2-1 in the MIAA, while Mount Carmel drops to 5-5 and 1-1 in the league.

Eisenberg allowed just three hits and needed just 72 pitches for his fourth win of the season. He also picked off two batters who reached base. In five starts this season, Eisenberg has won four games with no losses and has an ERA of 0.38. He also struck out 25 batters in 26 innings.

Senior Jerry Donabedian got the game-winning hit for Friends, with a single up the middle in the seventh inning to produce the game’s lone run.
