Friends School picks up a pair of wins this week against Severn and St. Mary’s to secure second place in the conference. On Wednesday, April 16th, Friends beat Severn 12-5 with a big 11 run inning in the bottom of the 6th. Senior Mike Meshulam threw a complete game to get the win.
On Thursday, Friends traveled to St. Mary’s where Junior Wick Eisenberg took the mound. In the 1st, Kolodner and Lasky walked, Dayton hit a double and Donabedian hit a single to make it 2-0. In the bottom of the 4th, St. Mary’s put up two on a 2-run homerun by Ochall. Top of the 5th Donabedian hit a solo homerun. Going into the bottom of the 6th with Friends leading 4-2 St. Mary’s Colligan hit a solo homeroom and a sac fly later in the inning to tie the game going into the top of the 7th. With two outs Friends Kelly Dayton and Mike Meshulam hit back to back homeruns. Senior Matt Frost came in to close the door on St. Mary’s with a 6-4 victory.
