With junior Ebony Walters and Whitney Boross returning to competition, the full-strength Bethesda Chevy-Chase gymnastics squad dominated a tri-meet at Sherwood Tuesday.
The defending Maryland state-champion Barons scored 173.6 points, Sherwood placed second with 143.7 points and Gaithersburg came in third with 101 points. They had five of the top six all-around scores.
Walters placed 1st on all events (vault 8.7, bars 9.5, beam 9.5, floor 9.4) including first-place all-around with 37.1 points.
Junior Steph Golob tied Walters for first on vault with 8.7, took second place on floor (8.8), third place on bars (8.6), six place on beam (8.5), and placed second in all-around with 34.6 points.
Sophomore Julie Siegel placed third in all-around with 34.3 points. Siegel placed second on beam (9.1), third on floor (8.3), fourth on vault (8.5), and fifth on bars (8.4).
Boross was back from a foot injury and came in fourth in all-around with 33 points. The sophomore placed second on bars (8.9), third on vault (3), and fifth on floor (7.8).
Junior Allegra Barnes placed sixth in all-around with 31 points. Barnes placed fourth on beam (8.6) and sixth on floor (7.7). Senior Lauren Beck placed fourth on floor (8). Junior Abby Klein placed third on bars (8.6) and third on beam (8.8).
