This time, Baltimore Lutheran left little doubt.

After being upended by Key School during the regular season, the Saints' girls' lacrosse squad got revenge with a decisive 19-2 victory Thursday afternoon in an IAAM C Conference semifinal match in Towson. Lutheran will play St. Vincent Pallotti in the championship game Saturday morning at 11 at St. Paul's School for Girls.

Nine different players scored for the Saints led by four goals from Kate Watson and Alora Gullivan and Catherine Kennedy each added three goals. Brittany Macquilliam had both goals for Key.

The Obezags engineered one of the regular season's big surprises with a 16-15 decision over the Saints, then unbeaten in league play, in Annapolis Apr. 20. Lutheran was minus 11 players, eight of which were on a field trip including starters Aimee Chotikul, Rachael Keshishian, Alexa Marquard, Janice Hejirika and Catherine Kennedy, and Katie Watson was out with an ankle injury.

At full strength Thursday, the Saints showed why they've established the pace in the C Conference this spring. Lutheran scored four times within the opening six minutes as Kennedy had a goal and three assists, and Sullivan scored twice.

Macquilliam, who had four goals in the previous matchup, got Key on the scoreboard with 17 minutes, 37 seconds remaining in the first half. Lutheran dominated the rest of the period as Watson, Julia Ashmont, Lindsay Hamilton, Certeza and Anaoia Bussard all scored.

At Parkside Field, Pallotti built an 8-2 lead in the opening 25 minutes to win the rubber match over the Cubs. Juniors Carly Van Zanten and Michelle Moore each scored five goals for the Panthers and sophomore Shelby Lyles had three goals and four assists.

Junior Olivia Baker led Catholic with four goals, and junior Allison Terry added two goals and two assists. The Baltimore City school lost to the Panthers in Laurel, 14-8, Apr. 30 after gaining a 12-11 decision at Parkside in the first meeting with Baker and senior Sarah Anderson each scoring four goals.

It will be round three for Lutheran and Pallotti Saturday morning in Brooklandville. The Saints claimed both regular season matches, 13-9 in Towson, and 12-11 in Laurel. Certeza had a huge day for the Saints in the second meeting, scoring eight goals.
