Nick Natoli (Mount St. Joseph & Towson University) tripled home a run in
the fifth and singled in two more in the seventh, as Youse's Maryland
Orioles beat the Bethesda Big Train 9-2, at Povich Field, on Friday
night. The O's improved to 12-4, and pulled to with a half-game of the
first place Train (13-4).
Steven Bumbry (Dulaney) was 2-for-5 with and RBI, and Scott Swinson
(Centennial & University of Maryland) was sharp on the mound, yielding just hree hits and one run in six innings. Earlier in the spring at
Maryland, Swinson threw a no-hitter against Delaware, only the sixth in
Terp baseball history.
First baseman Tyler Massey, who was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the June 5 MLB draft was1-for-3 and scored two runs.
L.J. Hoes (St. John's D.C.), who started the season at second base for
Coach Dean Albany and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, has reported to the Gulf
Coast League. Kevin Brady (Gaithersburg), has rejoined the team after
playing for Team Maryland in the Sun Belt Classic in Norman, Oklahoma.
Brady was also drafted by the Orioles on June 5 and he was chosen as the
Gatorade Maryland State High School Baseball Player of the Year in May.
"We're back on track," said Albany, after knocking off the Big Train. "The pitching and the hitting are coming around."
Jeff Rowland (Georgia Tech) had three hits for Albany.
