CRANFORD WINS TOURNAMENT

John Carroll graduate excells in tennis

Freshman Adam Cranford, a John Carroll graduate, won the No. 1 singles draw to lead the Washington College men's tennis team at the ITA Southeast Regionals, hosted by Mary Washington, last weekend.
The Shoremen went 22-13 overall in singles and doubles matches at the tournament.
Cranford topped Tripp Weber of Johns Hopkins, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8, to open play in B1 singles.
Cranford then bested Zach Detweiler of Mary Washington, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8, in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, Cranford downed Methodist's Mike Roth, 1-6, 6-2, 10-7. In the final match, Cranford defeated Jake Schneiders of Johns Hopkins, 6-1, 6-2, to win B1 singles. --Lem Satterfield Source: Washington College's website
