JUST HANGIN: The workout of Northwest's running back-linebacker recruit Terrance West included pullups (above), the benchpress, dumb bell flies, military press, dumb bell curls and tricep extensions before he and teammate Steffon Brown ran a mile to finish up. "Tough," is how West described the workout.

DigitalSports caught up to running back-defensive back prospect Terrance West of Baltimore City's Northwestern High during a workout at the Supreme Sports Club in Columbia of Howard County.
There, West and his teammate, running back-linebacker, Steffon Brown, did some lifting, running and cardiovascular work.
One of the four or five best players in the city, West is determined to lead the Wildcats to what he believes can be their best season of his career.
The senior has rushed for 3,796 yards and 41 career touchdowns to go with the scoring of 32 career extra points, and has caught 26 passes for 827 yards and six touchdowns during his three seasons as a Wildcats' starter.
Defensively, West has 20 career interceptions.
West is by far the premiere player in the city's Division II, and would be a likely starter on any other team in the league -- including City, Dunbar, Edmondson or Poly of the city's Division I.
What is intriguing and compelling about West is that he may be one of the best-kept secrets in Baltimore, and that's not by choice.
West is a B-plus average student who scored 945 on his SAT, and plans to take the latter twice more as well as the ACT.
Rival city coaches and players alike know of and respect the abilities of West, who has been
a solid player for three years without a great deal of talent around him.
But West could be poised for a great season, and the Wildcats, perhaps on the verge of a breakthrough year in the city's Division II.
DigitalSports will occasionally drop in on West, and his head coach, Eric Woodson, during his final year at Northwestern as he seeks to attract the attention of Division I colleges.
