The Hawks' freshman is arguably the premiere runner in the state of Maryland, having dominated her events during the outdoor
season.
Demaree swept all three of her individual events at last weekend's Howard County championships, earning first place in the 800 meters, as well as the 1,600 meter and 3,200 meters.
Demaree clocked a 2 minute, 23.39 second 800; a 5 minute, 12.58 second 1,600, and an 11 minute, 36.72 seconds 3,200 meter run.
In addition, Demaree anchored the Hawks' winning 3,200 meter relay to a time of 9 minutes, 54.82 seconds. Demaree ran her section of that race in 2 minutes, 25 seconds.
Earlier this season, Demaree won the freshman 1,600 meters at the Pikesville Invitational, setting a meet record in 5 minutes, 19.28.
Demaree's lone defeat of the year was to Maure Linde of Century at the Boyer Invitational, where she finished in 5 minutes, 11.1 seconds.
Demaree has posted the premiere time in Maryland in the 1,500, completing that distance in 4 minutes, 43.29 seconds and defeating Linde in that race.
