Coach of the Year

Mike Tursi, Mater Dei. When the Shore Conference's second-smallest high school (Henry Hudson is the smallest according to NJSIAA figures) can mix it up with the big boys, it's the sign of a job well done. You're not going to hear too many cries of the private school advantages when it comes to Mater Dei, but Tursi's squad claimed the Non-Public B title for the sixth time in school history this fall, after also laying claim to the Class B Central title. At the Shore Conference Championships, the Seraphs placed seventh overall, behind three Non-Public A schools, two Group IVs and a Group II.

Team of the Year

Christian Brothers Academy. A typical season for the Colts meant titles in Class A North, Monmouth County and Shore Conference competition. A stellar Don Bosco Prep squad held the Colts to second-place finishes at both the Non-Public A meet and the Meet of Champions.
