By Dan Sousa:Radford (June 7, 2008) - Some familiar foes take to the fields Saturday with AA state titles, and a little revenge, on the line at Radford Saturday.
Call it "high noon" as the Broad Run girls soccer team (23-0-0) takes on a Courtland team Saturday in a noon state title game that is a rematch of the 2007 state quarterfinal that Courtland won in penalty kicks after the game was tied through overtime. (click to read Michael "Moe" Murphy's story!).
And in softball, Tunstall, which fell to Broad Run in nine innings last year, 1-0, in a state semifinal game in wich they squandered a bases loaded, nobody out situation, faces the Spartans at 1 p.m. in the state title game. Broad Run (27-0) is shooting for back-to-back state titles and the school's third softball title since 200 and Loudoun's sixth since 2000 and eighth overall.
