Red Bank Catholic junior right-hander Brittany O'Donnell has been honored for her marvelous 2008 season in which she led the Caseys to the NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship.
    Toward the end of the season, O'Donnell was selected as one of just 30 girls from around the United States to play in the inaugural ESPN/Under Armor All-American Softball game, July 20 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. The event lasts three days for the players from July 18-July 20 and the game will be nationally broadcast on ESPNU.
    O'Donnell was also selected by RISE Magazine as the Gatorade 2008 New Jersey Softball Player of the Year. She finished her stellar junior season with a 25-2 record, a 0.11 earned run average and 353 strikeouts in 179 innings. At the plate, she hit .469 with one home run and 17 RBI.
