girls placed 10th out of 20 teams in last Saturday's Nike Team
Nationals held in Portland, Oregon. The girls, ranked 2nd in the
country going into the meet, were led by Kathleen Lautzenheiser who ran the 5K course in 20:21.7 and placed 22nd out of 140 runners. Ashley Higginson of the Colts (New Jersey) XC Club was the first individual finisher with a time of 19:18.4, and the Manlius (New York) XC Club won the team championship with 128 points.
The Midlothian boys team placed 14th out of 20 teams. Ranked 11th nationally going into the meet, the Trojans were led by Jason Witt who finished 7th out of 140 runners, with a time of 16:51.3 on the 5K course. James Murdock of Clifton Park (New York) XC Club was the top individual finisher with a time of 16:26.9 and the Bridgetown (Pennsylvania) XC Club was the top team with 126 points.
