Midlothian, ranked ninth in the DigitalSports Top 10, defeated No. 5 Monacan 53-38 Thursday in girls basketball.

It was the Chiefs' senior night, and despite great efforts by Rachel Robinson (11 points) and Victoya Ricks (eight), Monacan was unable to handle the dominate power of Midlothian's Rachel Matthews (17 points, six boards) inside and the speed of the Trojans' guards, including Brittany Harris, who put in 11 points, including two 3-pointers.
