Antonio Miller

Boys Track

Vitals:

School  Manchester
Year  Junior
Position  Jumper/ Sprinter
Height  5'7"
Performance:

At the Five Forks Invitational, Miller broke his own meet record in the triple jump by over a foot, going 47-2¾. He also won the long jump (20-8½).

One thing most
wouldn't know:

Miller is the defending Central Region outdoor triple jump champion.

Future: ??I??m somewhat of a practical joker. If it??s a prank or something, I??m probably behind it.?
Fast Fact: ??I??d love to continue track in college. I want to go somewhere within the state of Virginia. If possible, further than that.?
One word that
describes his
personality:
??Outgoing.?
Favorite Event: ??Triple jump. It??s a hard event to do and I like challenges. It??s just something I caught on to.?
Funniest
Teammate:
??By far Anthony Chesson. If Anthony doesn??t make it in track and field he??ll be a comedian for sure.?

Sammy Dow

Girls Track

Vitals:
School  Midlothian
Year  Junior
Position  Middle Distance Runner
Height  5'5"
Performance: Finished third in the 800-meter run at the Nike Spring Invitational at Oakton High School, Dow??s first meet of the season. She also ran the anchor leg of Midlothian??s meet-record jaunt of 9:35.94 in the 3,200 relay. A day before, Dow led the Midlothian softball team to a 4-2 defeat of then-No. 5 Lee-Davis. Saturday morning, Dow took her SATs at Monacan High. She arrived home at 1 p.m. and left around 30 minutes later to go to Oakton. She didn??t get back home until 3 a.m. Sunday.
Best trait:

??I think it??s just my dedication and my mental toughness.?

On difficulty
playing two
sports at once:

??During softball season I??m focused on softball. After softball practice I??ll go on my run. The track coach [Stan Morgan], he gave me some workouts and I do those after practice. I??ve been training. I kept in shape.?

On the Penn
Relays:

??It was actually scary. I??ve never been scared at a track meet before. It was bigger than nationals.?

Future: ??Right now my plan for college is to run all three seasons because the easiest way for me to get into college would be by running. Softball is my love and I will always love it, but it will be easier for me to get into college through running.?
One thing most
wouldn't know:

??I used to live in New York. I was born in New York, I lived there for seven years. Then I moved to Florida and lived there for four years. We moved back to New York for a couple of years, then I moved here. I??ve been all over the place.?

One word that
describes her
personality:
??Wacky.?
Favorite Event:

??The 800 or the 1,000. If I had to choose anything, I??d probably go with the four by eight relay.?
