The Colonial Heights Colonials defeated the Henrico Warriors 11-3 in Monday night's game.

Both teams came out swinging right away as they both scored a run in the first inning.

In the third inning, the Colonials rallied to knock in four more runs to put them ahead of the Warriors 5-1.

Colonial Heights freshman pitcher Savannah Phillingane (5 for 5, HR, double) started the rally with an infield home run.

Immediately after, first baseman Candace Cornigan hit an RBI triple into left field knocking in another run for the Colonials.

In the top of the fourth, the Warriors would knock in two runs to shorten the Colonials lead, one on a homer by Jessica Burgess.

But in the bottom of the fourth it was Colonial Heights' turn as they scored three more runs including another infield homer by center fielder Danielle Searle to go on top 8-3.

The Colonials were not done scoring yet.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Colonials would score three more runs to go up 11-3 and put the game out of reach for the Warriors.

Phillingane would keep Henrico off the score board the rest of the game as she pitched a shut out the last three innings to take the victory.

Colonial Heights moved to 4-0 as Phillingane struck out 18 Nottoway batters in a 5-0 win earlier in the day. She allowed only one hit, and four hits over the doubleheader.
