Zionsville soccer goalie Nathan Sprenkel was the named winner of the 2008 St. Vincent “Spirit of Sport” (Male) Award on July13. It is the highest award presented at the annual St. Vincent Spirit of Sport Awards.
Sprenkel was honored for his dogged return from injuries during his high school career and his performance on the soccer field. That performance has him headed to Duquesne University this fall. He was also cited for his work in the classroom and the community service he rendered in his four years at Zionsville.
Hoosier Authority spoke with Sprenkel shortly after the award, when he demonstrated the modesty that helped garner him the award.
