Purdue recruit Dee Dee Williams of Class 4A state champion Ben Davis and Indiana State-bound Anna Munn of Decatur Central lead the Indiana Junior Girls All-Stars team that was announced this week.

Other girls with one year remaining in their high school careers named to the Junior All-Stars include Courtney Moses and Ashley Pickering of Class 2A state runner-up Oak Hill, Tabitha Gerardot of 1A state champion Fort Wayne Canterbury, and Winchester’s Sarah Hamm.

The team will be split into North and South squads, with the Junior All-Stars playing exhibition games June 9 and 11 against the Indiana Girls All-Stars at sites to be determined. Both boys and girls Indiana All-Star teams will host Kentucky June 13 at Conseco Fieldhouse and travel June 14 to Bellarmine University in Louisville.

The half-dozen girls listed above will play in both games of the exhibition series, whereas the remainder of the team will split between games played in the northern and southern parts of the state.

Rounding out the North team are Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso), Andrea Newbauer (Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran), Jasmine Penny (Logansport), and Brandi Richardson (Lafayette Jefferson), Lindsay Spears (Perry Meridian), and Brandy Woody (Western Boone).

Those girls completing the South squad are Maegan Callaway (Mooresville), Mur Hagerman (Pendleton Heights), Kylee Hamilton (Indian Creek), Khristian Hart (Evansville Harrison), Katelyn Lakes (Hagerstown), and Katy McIntosh (Austin).

Mark Redding of 3A state champion Fort Wayne Elmhurst will coach the Junior All-Stars, with Mooresville’s Mark Hurt and Gibson Southern’s Mark Monroe serving as his assistants.
