The 2009 spring sports season was highlighted by state tennis qualifiers and regional track participants. The boys tennis team capped a 10-1 regular season with a district runner up and regional semifinalist team finish. Individually, sophomore Tianyu Bao capped an undefeated season by capturing the district number 1 singles championship. Bao teamed with freshmen Junwei Yu to win the district title in number 1 doubles as well. The pair advanced to the state semis in both of these events. In track, 12 students qualified for regional including the 4x800 relay team that set a school record during the season. Relay members were Zack Foster, Charlie Gianiotes, Devin Melcher and Michael Young. Nathan Whitehead (pole vault), Alex Stanley (high jump) and Langston Woodie (Triple jump) qualified for individual events and the 4x100 relay team (John Drake, Isiah Dunnum, DeShawnd Johnson, Dejuan WIlliams and Varise Williams) also advanced.
