Halloween could sometimes bring out a scary side to a person or team. Yesterday, Coral Park look scared all game long and the fellas got the shutout 48-0. RB Jarvis Bridge ran for 198 yards on 12 carries with 3 touchdowns and is named Player of the Game. QB Pat McCain completed 6 of 9 passes for 59 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR Andre Gutierrez caught 3 passes for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, the fellas allowed 151 yards of Coral Park offense. An all-around great game. The scoring began with WR/RB/CB Shaq Cooper catching a 6 yard TD pass from Pat McCain. That possession started after Shaq Cooper snagged an interception from Coral Park QB Quincy Mosqueda. Extra point was good. 7-0 CG. Next possession, Jarvis Bridge took the handoff from Pat McCain, found a seam, and he was gone. 60 yards to the house. Extra point was good. 14-0 CG. In the 2nd quarter, Lance Williams handled the punt, found open real estate, broke a couple of tackles, and he was gone. 54 yards to the house. Extra point was good. 21-0 CG. Pat McCain had all the time in the world to throw the 6 yard touchdown pass to Andre Gutierrez. Excellent protection from the o-line throughout the game. 2 point conversion was no good. 27-0 CG. Jarvis Bridge took the direct snap on Wildcat, faked the handoff, and went 38 yards to the house. Not before breaking several tackles. Extra point was good. 34-0 CG at the half. On the opening possession of the 3rd quarter, Pat McCain threw his 3rd touchdown of the game and the 2nd to Andre Gutierrez. This time, a 13 yard strike. Extra point was good. 41-0 CG. Jarvis Bridge finished the scoring for the game with his 3rd touchdown of the game. This time, from 2 hard earned yards out. Extra point was good. Final score: CG 48, Coral Park 0. The shutout was preserved and the swagger has returned and the win keeps CG alive in the chase for a playoff spot. Next game is Saturday night at 7:00 vs. South Miami at Tropical Park. A win will put CG in the playoffs and the right to take on the Northwestern Bulls in the 1st round of the playoffs. Friday night, November 20th at 7:30.
