Thanks to recommendations by a couple of CAL parents, we have partnered with Chris Lantz at i9sports and Kenny Hilp and Eric Browning of the Basketball Academy to create a new opportunity for CAL middle school students to continue playing basketball in a league environment with their peers. Players who are not selected for the school team will have the chance to play on a team with other CAL students against other schools at the same competitive skill levels. This program will replace the extra teams we added a couple of seasons ago (with mixed success). Tryouts for CAL teams will take place in early October. Practices for the Developmental Program will begin the first week of November with games (to be played on Saturdays) starting in early December. All practices and games will be at the Basketball Academy at 2401 Stanley Gault Pkwy in Louisville (close to the school). For a cost of $200, benefits for CAL students are as follows: Top quality facility with a Christian focused mission 11 minimum games, plus jamborees etc.. 2 hours of practice time per week Quality competition Season passes for immediate family members Teams made up of CAL students Focus on player development In addition to the above, there will also be opportunity for individual instruction through the Basketball Academy. Its been a blessing in the past few years to see Basketball Academy come into existence and find that we can utilize their professional league management skills and top flight facility to assist with our needs. We will communicate more specifics on tryouts, etc. as school resumes in the fall. Grace and Peace! Steve Shubert Athletic Director
