BOARD OF DIRECTORS A.G.W. (Jack) Biddle III Prior to co-founding NBVP in 1996, Jack was President and CEO of InterCAP, a venture-backed computer software company. InterCAP was number 18 on the "Fast 50" list of the mid-Atlantic's fastest growing companies and was acquired by Intergraph in 1995. From 1987 to 1990, Jack rose from Senior Associate to Partner at Vanguard Atlantic, Ltd., a merchant banking group focused on M&A advisory work and control investments in software companies. At VAL, he served as turnaround CEO of a system software company and then as COO of an application software company. Earlier in his career he was an IT Industry Generalist, focused on Telecommunications Technology, at the Gartner Group, where he was also Executive Assistant to the CEO, Gideon Gartner. He began his career in 1983 in Austin, Texas at Business Development Partners, an early stage venture capital partnership. Jack holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. Jack currently serves on the Boards of Vision Chain, CorasWorks, Triumfant, eMinor, Digital Sports and Ztar Mobile. John Burke Founded a Supply Chain Logistics software company in 1989. Seven years of technology investing experience. Berkeley BS Mechanical Engineering, Santa Cruz BA Economics, Harvard MBA . John’s passion for building and growing companies began 20 years ago during his days as an engineer for a startup in Oakland, California. As the fourth employee, it was as clear to him then as it is now that it is all about the team. The guiding principle of team has stayed with him throughout his career – first on the programming team in California, then as an engineer for Bechtel Power in San Francisco, and ultimately as a venture investor. However, nowhere was the team principle more important to him than when he started his software company. Steve Chapin Mr. Chapin has started and run successful entrepreneurial businesses most of his
life; receiving 6 patents to date. He is currently owner of JARS Residential
Properties, which owns and manages nearly 1500 apartments throughout the
Southeast. In 1996, based on his fourth patent, he founded LifeMinders, an
internet database infrastructure company. He grew the business to 21 million
users, taking it public in 1999. The company was sold to Cross Media Marketing
in 2001.
Jack Hewes Jack is a highly accomplished senior executive with 36 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry. While at MBNA America, the world’s largest independent credit card issuer and leader in the affinity marketplace for the last 21 years, he pioneered the Consumer Finance and Business Lending businesses and developed them into an $18billion segment that generated more than $2billion in revenues and nearly $1billion in annual NIBT. He hired, developed, led and motivated teams in excess of 2500 people. His experience includes Operations Management, Merger & Acquisitions, Strategic Planning, Change Management, Leadership Development, Marketing Strategy and P&L Management. ![]() |
