Today’s coaches spend enormous amounts of time working hard to help kids enjoy the sport they love. At the same time, coaches play an important role as mentors of the kids – teaching them valuable lessons through the sports experience – teamwork, dedication, perseverance, goal setting, commitment, a commitment to excellence; and so much more. Coaches across our great country coach to touch the lives of our youth. They coach to instill values into young people that will make a difference for the rest of their lives. Coaches do make a difference – they show our kids the right way to play, work and live. Thirty… forty… fifty years can go by, and we never forget those who coached us and the impact they made on our lives.

Today’s world moves so much faster than before. The demands on the lives of our coaches are growing every year, and that often times makes it difficult for us to have quality time with our players. Administrative, fund-raising and communication challenges take us off the field and courts, away from our team.

DigitalSports understands that athletic participation is secondary to the student’s academic obligations. We also understand that athletics offers our youth the opportunity to be provided with rewarding experiences that extend the educational process and impacts our kids for the rest of their lives. Athletics offers kids the opportunity to build self discipline and self confidence; learn and promote the importance of teamwork; work together to set goals and strive through hard work to reach those goals; learn the skills associated with perseverance and overcoming adversity; learn how to adapt and respond to changing environments and circumstances; and, learn a compelling lesson – how to respond to winning and how to deal with losses – better yet, how to prepare for the next goal, learning from our prior experience.

DigitalSports recognizes athletics is an arena where our youth learn how to conduct themselves fairly and with class, especially when under the pressure of competition. For many, an athletic contest, or the results of trying out for a team or a starting lineup, is our first experience in learning that others are seeking goals that often times conflict with our goals. Dignity and grace, while competing, is an art learned in few places before we reach adulthood. Athletics provide that opportunity – and you – our Coach – are the mentor and teacher of that experience.
