Hi, I’m Lem Satterfield,more than 20 years, 18 of which were spent at The Baltimore Sun, I have found the most uniting, rewarding and triumphant stories are those regarding heroism and overcoming adversity.

Over the years, my personal heroes have not necessarily been the players who achieve the greatest acclaim, but those who achieve without it – until, of course, their personal accomplishments are made public. Further, those stories are not necessarily about wins and losses, but about personal gains, acts of altruism, or overcoming tremendous odds. Here at DigitalSports, we are in search of those Inspirational Stories, some of which I will, for now, refer to as “Hidden Heroes.” These stories are about our family, friends, neighbors and members of the communities in which we live. We need not scan the national media for these stories. Many of these inspirational stories are to be found right in our own back yard. In fact, stories of those who live in our community are often far more relevant and important to us.

So - we have provide to you below links to what are but only a few of the many stories that have touched our lives – stories that provide examples of, but are not limited to, such inspirational tales.
