Honor Award <

Awarded to those in the Education Profession associated with the athletic program. (i.e. Superintendents, Principals, Athletic Administrators, coaches, retiring WSSAAA members.)
Commendation Award <

Awarded to those outside the educational profession of education and the athletic program. (i.e. team doctors, volunteer workers, fund raisers, promoters, staff members not associated with the athletic program, etc.)
AD Service Award <

Awarded to those Athletic Directors who made a significant contribution at the school, league, regional, or state level in any one year. This is not intended to be a lifetime achievement award! The idea is to recognize hard working A.D.s for an outstanding, single achievement during any given year. The idea is to recognize people long before retirement.

The Candidate must:
- Be a member of WSSAAA and be selected by their WSSAAA District.
- Be an active athletic administrator (at least five years).
- Be recognized as an educational leader who maintains that athletics is an integral part of the total education program.
- Administer an exemplary athletic program that involves as many students as possible making full use of school and community resources.
- Have made a significant impact on the lives of students.
- Have used athletics as a catalyst to achieve some demonstrable progress in the social and cultural environment of the school and/or community.
- Be active in league, district, regional and/or state committees.

NIAAA Award of Merit <

The most prestigious award presented by the NIAAA to an individual who has shown outstanding leadership in interscholastic athletics or related areas.

* Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and a son or daughter of an active WSSAAA member.
* Complete and accurate applicant information is required.
* Applicant shall have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative High School Grade Point Average, transcripts must be attached.
* Applicant must have participated in high school athletics or activities some time during grades 9-12.
* Applicant shall have demonstrated service toward school, and/or community, and good citizenship.
* A completed essay on a listed topic. This will be judged on content and writing style
* Complete recommendations from at least 2 adults: Including either: principal, athletic director, coach, teacher counselor, or other school official. The persons making the recommendation may not be related to the applicant, nor a WSSAAA board member.

NIAAA - Student Athlete Scholarship Program
Purpose of Scholarship: In accordance with National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (NIAAA) purpose to promote, facilitate and increase the knowledge and understanding of the vital role of interscholastic athletics in the educational system, this scholarship program will foster and recognize the partnership between the NIAAA and secondary education. The scholarships will recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life.
