NEWS September 2, 2007 – DigitalSports announces hiring of Warren “Rip: Jamison as its Director of Training. Rip has twenty years of experience in developing and implementing effective Training Programs and Systems for franchise companies in multiple industries. Mr. Jamison has developed unique approaches to training, focusing on the need to apply training processes to meet the varying styles of learning that exist in those seeking education in their field. Prior to joining DigitalSports, Rip developed similar programs at national and international chains including Waffle House and Jiffy Lube International. September 2, 2007 – Gary Adornato of SportsCom joins DigitalSports as Maryland Director of Operations . Gary is a 23 year member of the media and press; including as a winner of the prestigious Baltimore Touchdown Club Media Personality of the Year in 2006. A graduate of Towson University, Gary Adornato began his professional career as a sportswriter with the Baltimore Sun, where he covered high school sports and local colleges. Gary was the founder of SportsCom, one of the first ‘new media’ companies in America focused on High School sports. Gary launched MIAA Sports.com and IAAM Sports.com, covering two of the most prestigious private school conferences in America. In addition to his responsibilities for leading the Company’s efforts to cover sports and activities throughout Maryland, Gary has been instrumental in developing the new DigitalSports’ portal. August 28, 2007 – Mike Kocorowski joins Digitalsports, Inc. as controller. Mike brings thirteen years of hands-on experience coordinating all aspects of finance and accounting for small and large firms. His past responsibilities include budgeting, cash management, management reporting and analysis, financial statement preparation, and working with outside accountants and tax advisors. August 1, 2007 – Lem Satterfield joins DigitalSports as Senior Writer and Content Editor. Lem Satterfield, a graduate of the University of Maryland, and a 20 year veteran of the sports writing fraternity is the senior writer for DigitalSports’ Maryland territory. Satterfield is best known for his 18 year stint as the lead high school writer for the Baltimore Sun, where he also covered professional boxing and a variety of other events. Satterfield is a story teller who enjoys giving young athletes a forum to display their talents and provide insight into their lives. An award winning journalist, Satterfield is flourishing as a new media pioneer with DigitalSports. July 14, 2007 – DigitalSports announces partnership with the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Digitalsports will provide state-wide coverage of statistical information for all High School Sports in Indiana; and will be providing media coverage of events and activities throughout the state. July 23, 2007 – DigitalSports announces merger with Running Maryland, the premier media company for running sports throughout the State of Maryland. Joining the Company will be Brad Jaeger, President of Running Maryland, a media company covering High school and Club sports: Cross Country, Indoor Track, Track & Field. May 4, 2007 – Angela Watts joins DigitalSports. Angela Watts joined the DigitalSports team in April after spending the previous 12 years covering various high school, collegiate and professional sports for the Washington Post. Included in her responsibilities at the Post was an eight-year run covering Virginia Tech’s nationally-ranked football program. For two seasons she also co-hosted a national college football radio show, broadcast from Miami, on the Foster Sports Radio Network. Prior to joining the Post full-time in 1997, Angela worked part-time for the Roanoke Times covering everything from high school sports to minor league baseball and NASCAR. During her student days at Virginia Tech (1992-1996) she also served as the Sports Editor for three years for Virginia Tech’s award-winning student newspaper, The Collegiate Times, and worked as a stringer for the Washington Post, the Roanoke Times, the Newport News Daily Press, the Miami Herald and the Big East Football Review. April 11, 2007 - Stephen Lewis newest addition to DigitalSports’ team.Stephen Lewis has covered high school sports in the Richmond area for over six years, first for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and now for DigitalSports. Stephen graduated in 2004 from Virginia Union University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications while working as a full-time sports writer during his senior year. During High School, Stephen knew he wanted to be involved in sports for the rest of his life, and telling the stories of high school kids was the way to do so. Stephen played four sports in high school - basketball, football, volleyball and tennis. During his high school career, Stephen earned some sort of district recognition in three of the sports; and was a four-year starter on the varsity team , scoring over 1,000 points in his career. March 23, 2007 – Alex Samios joins DigitalSports as Director, Business Development. Mr. Samios brings over 20 years of franchising to DigitalSports combined with rich entrepreneurial skills, leadership, operations, and marketing knowledge. Prior to joining DigitalSports, Mr. Samios started, built and sold three separate companies. From a national restaurant franchise to a sports media company, Mr. Samios has been successful in developing companies and driving his team and partners to achieving tremendous results. An active outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Samios grew up in Baltimore and graduated from St. Paul’s School for Boys, where he played both lacrosse and soccer. He received his Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently he sits on three boards, including two non-profits and resides in Newport Beach, CA. March 21, 2007 – DigitalSports acquires Simplified Athletic Solutions, LLC., a Pennsylvania based company providing best of class, web based Sports Management Systems (LeagueMinder). Jack Hewes, Chairman of LeagueMinder will participate as a member of Digitalsports Board of Directors. Mr. Mike Hewes will serve as President of LeagueMinder, while Andy Costagliola will join as CTO, LeagueMinder. Tom McGover, Founder of LeagueMinder will provide ongoing services for strategic planning. February 5, 2007 – W. Gar Richlin joins Board of Directors of DigitalSports, Inc., a New Media company providing unprecedented media coverage of local sports and activities. Mr. Richlin has spent most of his career working with emerging growth companies. Prior to starting Richlin/Dale LLC in August of 2005 with Jim Dale, from 2001 to 2005 he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Advertising.com, the leading performance-based provider of marketing solutions for interactive advertisers and publishers. Advertising.com, a venture-backed company, was purchased by AOL in August of 2004 for $435 million. Before joining Advertising.com, Mr. Richlin was from 1998 to 2001 the COO and CFO of SITEL Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange global provider of outsourced call-center services to large corporations. Gar joined SITEL from Alex. Brown & Sons, where he was head of investment banking from 1991 to 1998. During that period, Alex. Brown was the leading investment banking firm to merging growth companies. Prior to joining Alex. Brown, he was a partner of Piper & Marbury, the predecessor firm to DLA Piper, where he worked primarily with emerging growth companies. ![]() |
