Not that I do not have the guts of Girls Running Sports Coordinator Colin Altevogt, but I fully expect this weekend's IHSAA Boys Cross Country State Finals to go according to plan, both teamwise and individual. I am not much for taking chances, but I think that it is clear who the best team and best individual in Indiana are. The Fishers Tigers survived a scare two weeks ago at the Brebeuf Regional as they narrowly defeated fourth-ranked Carmel by a mere three points. And they ran well. They have been the top team in Indiana all season and reclaimed their early season dominance at last week's Franklin Central Semistate. The Tigers have received their wakeup call and are back in control. Individually, it would be one of the larger upsets in state history if anyone other than Mike Fout of LaPorte crossed the line in first place. But the weather could be the great equalizer as the forecast calls for rain up until the gun goes off on Saturday afternoon.
