published: 4/23/2007 |
| Taryn Webb's highlight reel goal with 1:57 left in the second half broke a 9-9 tie and helped lift her Toms River North girls lacrosse team to an 11-9 victory over host Toms River South. After the Indians were able to forge a pair of ties after trailing by three and two goals in the second half, in the end it was Webb's goal, off a run down the middle and a leaping shot over two Indians defenders, that decided the outcome. Webb (No. 4 at left) finished with three goals and teammate Krissy Behrens notched five scores as North moved to 6-2 (4-1 in Class A South). Maggie Crowley and Kara Hoehe each scored twice in the second half for the Indians. |
