Track and Field - 2007 NJSIAA Meet of Champions

Southern's Danielle Tauro (far right) joined former Mount Olive star Christine Engel (also pictured) as the only four-time Meet of Champions winners in the girls 1,600 on Wednesday. Tauro ran away with a 4:49.51 victory. Colts Neck senior Craig Forys became just the second boy in state history to double in the 1,600 and 3,200, breaking his own meet record in the latter with a 8:52.58 after just missing out on the 1,600 record with a 4:09.59. The Shore Conference totaled 11 gold medals and Brick's DeAnne Hahn (shot put), Colts Neck's Ashley Higginson (3,200), Southern's Jillian Smith (800) and the Southern girls 4x400 (third place) all established new conference records.
