Week 3 Top 10 Plays
No. 10 — 90 A.D.
With the pace of the game grinding to a halt and Lee ahead of Woodson by six points, Lancer senior Idreis Augustus broke off this 90-yard touchdown that grabbed hold of the momentum. It was his sixth touchdown of 63 yards or longer this season. He has 691 all-purpose yards and eight scores in three games.

No. 9 –“I” in Donavin
Robinson already had victory secured against Marshall, but Ram senior receiver Donavin Taylor was still hungry for his first reception of the season. Facing two Statesmen safeties, he keep his eye on the deflected pass, maintained his balance and came down with the rock in the end zone for a 39-yard touchdown.

No. 8 –Krisak Beamer Ball
Edison senior Mark Krisak burst through the line and batted down this Mount Vernon punt. Krisak recovered at the 4-yard line and dove into the end zone to start the running clock Thursday.

No. 7 –Pears’ing Patriot Hearts
In the first quarter of a scoreless game, Centreville linebacker Tim Pearson read the quarterback’s eyes, stepped in front of the pass and went 61 yards to provide the first points. Every digit was crucial Thursday as the Wildcats beat the Patriots, 21-20.

No. 6 –– Winner Winners
Captain Jack
With junior running back Anton Burns out of the lineup, Fairfax senior Jack Carter stepped in and had a huge night. He carried 21 times for 137 yards — both game-highs — including this game-winning score with :45 seconds left.

MansaRay of Hope

Lake Braddock trailed Westfield by six point with 2:47 left, but had just recovered a fumble in Bulldog territory. Senior running back Osman Mansaray, on the next play, darted ahead 27-yards — hurdling a defender en route — for the game-winning touchdown.

No. 5 –Gouveia Nose
Stone Bridge trailed West Springfield, 26-22, on the road midway through the fourth quarter, but turned to a name that has dominated Ashburn headlines for the past decade. Bulldog junior quarterback Kyle Gouveia — the latest in the dynasty — bounced off a linebacker and went 49 yards for the go-ahead score. Stone Bridge won, 36-33.

No. 4 –Look How Rayshawn is Living
Hayfield senior Rayshawn Rigans has scored multiple touchdowns in every game this season — the only Northern Region player to do so. His first Thursday against Washington-Lee covered the entire width of the field and involved nearly every defender as he went 13 yards for the score.

No. 3UnChuong Hero
Annandale was deadlocked in a defensive struggle when it yielded a should-be game-tying touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. But little-known Atom defensive back Nick Chuong kept the visitors in front with a blocked extra point. Later, he locked up the 7-6 win with a final-minute interception.

No. 2 –One is All We Need
Kim Sideline Grab

West Springfield junior wide receiver Michael Kim had one reception Thursday against Stone Bridge — but it was a dandy. He leapt backwards, reached over his head and dragged his foot, all while pulling down this 27-yard toss from senior Eric Schauder.

NazRules

Hawk senior Nazrul Islam provided the best catch of the young season by climbing the ladder, getting hit and tapping his foot in-bounds on this sensational 16-yard touchdown reception from junior quarterback Jason Stewart. Hayfield (2-1) has scored 35 points in all three games this season.

No. 1 –C-H-E-L-O, It’s Alive
Oakton led T.C. Williams, 9-7, with 1:51 left in the game and appeared certain to run out the clock. But, after a fumble on an inside rush, Titan senior linebacker Chelo Abbe grabbed the loose ball and returned 59 yards for the upset-clinching touchdown. T.C beat the defending Division 6 Northern Region champions, 15-9.
